Kickoff Trivia ("the app") is an independent fan-made trivia game. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any international or national football governing body, sports federation, club, league, federation, or tournament organizer. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.

Information we collect

The app may store quiz progress (category stars, streaks, daily challenge status, and recently seen questions) in your browser's local storage and session storage. We do not require an account and do not collect your name or email through gameplay.

Sharing

If you use Share result, text is composed on your device and sent through your browser's share sheet or clipboard. We do not receive what you share.

Third-party services

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. Country flags may be loaded from flagcdn.com.

Analytics (Umami & Microsoft Clarity)

We may use Umami Analytics to measure aggregate page views and referrers. Umami is privacy-friendly and does not use advertising cookies for personalization.

We may also use Microsoft Clarity for heatmaps and session recordings. Clarity may use cookies to understand how visitors use the site. See Microsoft's privacy statement.

These analytics tools load independently of our optional ad cookie notice.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We may display ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites, to measure ad performance, and to personalize content where permitted by law.

We publish an ads.txt file at the site root listing authorized digital sellers for this domain, as required for programmatic advertising.

When advertising is enabled, we show a cookie notice before loading those scripts. Essential only keeps the quiz playable without ad cookies. Accept loads Google AdSense as described above.

Images & licenses

Licensed quiz photos are loaded from Wikimedia Commons (upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/ only). Each image is checked at build time: CC0, Public Domain, CC BY, or CC BY-SA. Files tagged NC (non-commercial) or hosted as Wikipedia fair use are rejected.

On quiz cards, we show the creator credit, license name, and a link to the Commons file page. Images may be displayed as Commons thumbnails with a display crop; CC BY / CC BY-SA files require a named creator credit at build time.

Quiz facts may be compiled from open datasets (OpenFootball, open-source fixture APIs) and sports metadata APIs. We do not redistribute third-party artwork from those APIs in the quiz UI.

Cookies

The quiz stores progress in local storage and session storage for gameplay — these are not used for advertising. If you Accept our cookie notice, Google AdSense may set cookies as described above. Umami and Microsoft Clarity (when enabled) are used for aggregate traffic and UX analytics. See Google's Privacy Policy.

United States (including California)

We do not sell personal information collected through gameplay (we do not collect accounts or emails in the quiz). If personalized advertising is enabled and you choose Accept, Google and partners may use cookies for advertising — you can opt out at Google Ads Settings and aboutads.info. Choosing Essential only avoids loading AdSense on our site.

European Union, United Kingdom & EEA

For visitors in the EU, UK, and EEA, non-essential advertising cookies are used only after you Accept. You may withdraw consent by clearing site data for this domain. When Google AdSense is enabled, we also use Google Privacy & messaging in AdSense for ad personalization choices in those regions where required.
